In Memory Of.......
SHIRLEY KINGERY
Shirley Kingery—What a Lady!
What can one say about such a lovely lady? Shirley was very dear to all of us
who knew her. She was kind
and generous. She was a great friend and her beautiful smile was always present.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shirley’s husband Gene and their family. We
will miss her…..

-February 1, 2006
On February 1, 2006 we lost a very dear friend and long time
SJCC member, Shirley Kingery. She will be
missed tremendously. For those that were unable to attend the funeral and/or
visitation on Saturday, February
4, we conducted a “21 Corvette Salute” in her honor. We lined up the cars of all
those in attendance
and in unison revved our engines and honked our horns. We know that Shirley
heard this (how could she
not?!) and both smiled and laughed at our tribute to her!
Her husband, Gene, has requested memorials be made to a charity of choice. As a
club we have decided to
collect memorial donations from club members and make one donation in her honor.
We are currently collecting
donations. These may be forwarded to my attention at the following:
Cheri Payne
c/o S Kingery Memorial
281-415-8080
Of course you can always bring your donation to an upcoming meeting.

More Memories of Shirley Kingery….
What a pleasure it has been to share SJCC events with Shirley. One of our
favorite road trips was the caravan
to Bowling Green and Nashville in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the
Corvette. How pleasant
it was to hang out with Shirley and Gene at Bryce Inn enjoying the countryside
at Smith's Grove just
north of Bowling Green.
It was a very touching moment at the Kingery residence for the reception after
the memorial service for
Shirley when Bill Harris signaled everyone at the appointed time to start their
engines and rev them up in
an affectionate 21-Vette salute to Shirley's memory.
It has been so special knowing Shirley along life's journey. How we will miss
her cheerful smile and
friendly greeting, "Hey, you!"
Kathy and Terry Kirk
