Australia Day 1st Annual Sausage Sizzle
To pay tribute to the First Lady’s native Lands’ National Day. We will meet at Bucc-ee’s on 290 (WALLER) and enjoy a spirited drive to a secret location out in the back of Bourke, well beyond the black stump, for a fair dinkum Aussie Sausage sizzle. For them that’s not properly informed, an Aussie sausage or “snag” as we prefer to call them are cooked on a hot plate, along with lashings of grilled onions and served on a white bit of bread with Dead Horse, which is what yous lot call ketchup. “dead horse” rhymes with “sauce, for tomato sauce, which is what we call ketchup. Anyway to them important bits:-
Drivers meeting 08:45 am (Buc-ee’s Waller)
Departure 09:00 am
Pitstop around 10:00 am
Arrival at the Back of Bourke, beyond the black stump 11:30 for me world famous Snags and Dead Horse.
Remember, full tank, empty bladder.
This run will be a spirited run lead by none other than the fastest Shelia this side of the great divide. Be there, don’t make me come looking for ya!
Nothing goes as well with a Snag Sanger as a cold tinnie. Unfortunately, the Back of Bourke is on Sacred Ground, and the original owners won’t allow alcohol…
Cost for the lunch is $5.00 including as many snags as you can shove down yer gullet and into yer black guts, and a can of fizzy lollywater. (soda).
Yer old mate.
Bandit Run X
Pancho is back and we are going out to get him again. Come join us on the chase for the legendary bandit, Pancho Villa. He is rumored to be camped somewhere along Navasota, TX. We are forming a posse of a few brave men and women to chase Pancho. We will be starting from the West side this time. It is guaranteed to be a run full of twists and turns and full-throttle blasts. After Pancho has been thoroughly banished from Texas, it will be time to water our horses at the Ransom’s Steak House & Saloon, Montgomery, TX. Bring your fast car and pray for shine. No rain allowed for this event. On this run, we will cover about 150 miles and it will last about 5 hours including lunch. Pencil in the date now. Please RSVP for this event. We are expecting a large turnout and we need to let the restaurant know how many to expect. This event will be open to all Corvette owners. Bring a handheld walkie talkie or a CB if you have one. It is always fun so come on out in the middle of winter and enjoy yourselves with a fine group of fellow Corvette enthusiasts.
